Clear your cache

Clearing your cache is important to improve page speed/loading times because the cache stores temporary data from websites, such as images and scripts, locally on your device. When the cache becomes cluttered or outdated, it can slow down page loading as the browser needs to retrieve fresh content from the server. By clearing the cache, you ensure that your browser fetches the most up-to-date resources, leading to faster loading times and a smoother browsing experience.

*Note: Clearing your cache will not delete any documents on your computer. 

Google Chrome/Chromebook

1. In Google Chrome, click the three little stacked dots in the top-left hand corner and select Settings.
2. From the menu on the left side, select the "Privacy and Security" tab.
3. In the center menu, select the "Clear Browsing Data" option.
4. Change the time range from "last hour" to "all time".
5. Click the "Clear Data" button

Firefox

1. In Firefox, click the three vertical lines in the top-left hand corner and select Options.
2. From the menu on the left side, select the "Privacy and Security" tab.
3. Under the "Cookies and Site Data" section, click the "Clear Data" button.
4. In the popup, click the blue "Clear" button.
    

Check your extensions

Extensions can cause issues with visiting websites. Some extensions may interfere with the normal functioning of websites by blocking essential scripts, modifying page content, or introducing conflicts with other extensions. Additionally, poorly coded or malicious extensions can slow down page loading, display unwanted ads, or compromise user privacy and security. All necessary extensions are pushed out via the district. If you feel that an extension should be installed, contact ithelp@mtsd.org

If your Chromebook is running slow, please follow the guide below:

• Restart your Chromebook. This clears out any residual data left by apps and web pages.
• Close unnecessary tabs and applications. Having too many open tabs or running multiple applications simultaneously can consume system resources.
• Remove unnecessary extensions. Disable or remove any Chrome extensions you don't need or use frequently, as they can impact performance.
• Clear browsing data. Clear your browsing history, cache, and cookies regularly. To do this, go to Chrome settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.

If your iPad isn't functioning correctly, here are some steps you can take:

• Restart your iPad. You can do this by holding down the lock/unlock button, then swiping to power off when prompted.
• Force close apps. If an app isn't working, or your iPad is running slow, you can force close the apps by double clicking the home button, then swiping out of unused or unresponsive apps. 
• Clear your browsing history. By going into safari and clearing your browsing history/cookies, this frees up cached memory.

Clever

For any Clever related issues, please follow the guide below.

• Use the correct link. The link for Clever is: https://clever.com/in/millcreek
• Use your district credentials. This is done using Google sign-in.
• If you are unable to see an application:
  • Talk to your teacher to make verify you are on the class roster.
  • If you are on the roster, contact ithelp@mtsd.org and provide as much detail as possible, including your teacher's name.

Reflex

For any Reflex related issues, please follow the guide below:

• Unable to complete assignments:
  • Talk to your teacher. Make sure the assignment is assigned to you.
  • If you are still experiencing issues, contact ithelp@mtsd.org and provide as much detail as possible, including your teacher's name.

Naviance

For any Naviance related issues, please follow the guide below:

• Make sure cookies are enabled. To do this, go into Settings, then into Privacy and Security. From there, select the Third Party Cookies tab and make sure they are enabled. 

If your issue is not listed, please submit a ticket containing as much detail as possible.
